Ladies who Shoot their Lunch Riesling
Wine
Fowles Wine Ladies who Shoot their Lunch Riesling is sourced from the dramatic granite landscape of the Strathbogie Ranges. The cool climate vineyards lie at 430-550 metres altitude.
The grapes are harvested in the cool of night to preserve their quality. They are then destemmed and gently crushed to minimize the extraction of harsh phenolics.
The winemaking is geared towards creating a more complex, textural wine. Wild yeasts are typically used for fermentation, which takes place on solids. The juice ferments in a large oak cask, then rests on lees for around 12 weeks.
Pale straw, Fowles Wine Ladies who Shoot their Lunch Riesling shows fresh acidity, with crunchy citrus flavours and a dry finish. Cellaring potential is seven years.
